Sometimes a fence doesn't just need a patch job - it needs to go. The old setup here was exactly that situation. Worn-out wood, sagging gate panels that were barely hanging on, and an overall look that wasn't doing this home any favors. When a fence gets to that point, repairs are more of a band-aid than a fix.

We pulled everything out and started fresh with cedar. Cedar is one of our go-to materials for good reason. It's naturally resistant to rot and insects, it holds up well in the Texas heat, and the grain and color it brings right out of the gate are hard to beat. Fresh cedar has that warm, rich tone that just looks good against almost any home exterior.

The side yard run came out clean and consistent - boards tight, height even all the way down the line. But the gate section is really where this one got personal. The homeowners wanted something that felt like theirs, so we worked with them on a cedar gate build fitted with black hardware and a decorative metal horseshoe welcome sign. It's a small detail that makes a big difference. Visitors notice it immediately.

A well-built fence does more than mark a property line. It creates actual privacy, adds a layer of security, and gives the whole yard a finished look that carries real curb appeal value. When it's done right with quality materials and solid installation, it holds up for years without a lot of fuss.
